EMPLOYMENT

TERRY MILLER ASSOCIATES NOTTINGHAM 2000 - 2001
My introduction to the industry saw me learning, very heavily, about all aspects of designing for print, client relations and the deadlines and pressures that come with them. I was however, very grateful not be sheltered from the forefront of the studio, and with the evergrowing responsibility I was given, I lost my tag as junior very quickly.

GUPPI 2001 - 2008
Joining Guppi at conception as an established designer, I continued my unsupported design of games and toy packaging but made the annual monopoly projects my own, as well as setting redesign presidents for 2 substantial annual toy catalogues - all of which was essential for the company's future. I notably became Guppi's specialist in photo manipulation and also began learning web design in order to build the company's site. However, I became very competent in everything the direction of the company had to offer and the time for a new challenge came in late 2008.

FREELANCE 2006 - Present
With my boss’ approval, I expanded into more personal projects in my spare time, starting with a very ambitious project for a friend, who was planning the early stages of a small music festival in Birmingham. The ‘Tronic’ festival project demanded a fresh logo and identity, a full website with a high Google rating, myspace & facebook promo pages, flyers, posters, tickets and networking cards. Since then I have undertaken graphics and web work for Yoga Chikitsa, Swift Instruction Flight School, Lasershape (hi-tech profiling plant), Combi-Ride (advanced sports surfaces manufacturer) and YMCA Digital (Nottinghamshire YMCA’s Digital Media Program)

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE YMCA 2008 - Present
Thrust straight into a massively demographically varied environment, not only professionally but culturally and socially, I thoroughly enjoyed my first year. Enjoying such unparalleled demand saw me achieving unparalleled productivity which quickly earned me carte blanche on most of my assignments ...and man did that spur me on! Long may this continue...

PERSONAL STATEMENT

I’m assertive, talented and reliable, with an aptitude for multiple working disciplines and mediums. Partnered with a friendly, confident candour, I can easily adapt to differing colleagues and environments. As a consequence, I am very easy to work with - however never so arrogant to believe I cannot learn something from everyone I meet.

Key Skills With an eye for just about anything visual, creative and artistic, partnered with my competency in Photography, AV Production and Copywriting, I can turn my hand to just about anything.

Notable Travel 2005 saw me travel to Australia, alone, for 3 months. This scared the hell out of me but I maintain it was the single most important decision I have ever made. It taught me so much about people, confidence and how misleading stereotypes can be. It hugely influenced who I am today. Lesser so, the same can be said about to my trip to Thailand in 2007/2008. The impact of a culture totally contrary to the one we take for granted is as daunting as it is inspiring - and that's what makes it so rewarding.

Interests I have a great passion for football and play regularly. In fact I am in the process of assembling a 5-a-side league team with a few friends. I love to create music when I have a minute or two and I’m also a keen biker. In a social arena, and as cliché as it sounds, I love meeting new people.
